Rifflandia! I can’t believe its already that time of year again. The festival and the excitement it brings always seems to sneak up on me. I’ve decided to blog daily this year during the festival. I’ll be sharing photos from the festival, as well as some more “behind the scenes” type photos of what it looks like day-to-day when you’re a photographer for Rifflandia. I also want to give those of you who have never attended Rifflandia a taste of what its all about!
The festival season is coming to a close, and personally I find that Rifflandia is the easiest to shoot. I’ve had all summer to get back into the swing of photographing festivals, and by this point in the year a large-scale festival is a breeze. Well, maybe not a breeze per se, but by this point I’m used to logging late nights in front of the computer and making sure I’ve got my photos edited and posted before noon the next day. For me, Rifflandia starts before it actually starts; there’s camera bags to be packed, gear to be charged, checked and cleaned, accreditation to be picked up, computers to organize to name a few things.
I’m honoured to be a part of the official Rifflandia photography team for the third year in a row now and I can’t wait to share the pit with an amazing group of “photografriends” for the next four days. I’ll be posting here on my blog daily, as well as contributing to the official Rifflandia photo gallery, which you’ll be able to see here once it starts going live tonight.
For those of you attending Rifflandia this year, who are you most looking forward to seeing? Which venues are you most excited to check out? Make sure you leave me a comment and let me know!
Stay tuned for my day one wrap-up and be sure to follow me on Instagram for even more Rifflandia fun!
